As excitement builds for the festival, organizers are urging attendees to plan their journeys ahead of time to avoid any transportation hassles. Notably, trams will not be operating from Manchester Piccadilly. However, there are trams available from Manchester Victoria to Heaton Park, running every six minutes, making the trip a swift 15 minutes. The Heaton Park stop is conveniently located near the West Gate entrance.

For those traveling by car, on-street parking is limited around the event site. Official parking will be available on Sheepfoot Lane, and it’s advisable to book parking tickets in advance to secure a spot.

Travel Passes Available

Transport for Greater Manchester is offering an affordable travel pass, accessible for shuttle buses and trams servicing the festival site. The pass costs £8 for either Saturday or Sunday, or £14.95 for the weekend. Shuttle buses will begin operations on Saturday from 10:30 and on Sunday from 11:30, running until 16:30, with return services from Heaton Park commencing at 18:30 and continuing until the site is cleared.

Additionally, for those arriving from outside Manchester, the official travel partner Big Green Coach provides services tailored for the festival, ensuring easy transit for attendees from various locations.

Road Closures and Transport Considerations

As the festival approaches, local authorities have issued warnings about potential road diversions and closures. Several bus services will be redirected, and numerous roads around Heaton Park will close from Saturday evening through the early hours of Monday morning. In particular, roads around the Northern Quarter will close on Saturday to facilitate shuttle bus operations, and Manchester City Council has designated queue areas.

Furthermore, Heaton Park’s vicinity will see exit slip roads at junction 19 of the M60 closed between 19:00 and 02:00 during the event. Traffic management measures will also include staggered road closures and a one-way system in place to ensure safety and efficient transport flow.
